This Carers Week, Delore Care Invites the UK’s Unrecognised Carers to Turn Compassion into a Career

This Carers Week (8–14 June), Delore Care is launching a major recruitment drive, calling on people in the UK who care for loved ones in their home life to consider turning their natural compassion and experience into a professional care career.

As part of this year’s Carers Week activity, Delore Care will be reaching out to care communities and partners across the UK, encouraging those who have stepped away from employment due to family caring responsibilities to explore a return to work in a role where their skills are valued and their impact is profound.

Research has shown that many people who take on caring responsibilities for family members leave the workforce and never return*. Delore Care’s recruitment campaign highlights that these individuals already possess the empathy, resilience and insight that make exceptional carers — and that professional care offers a meaningful, respected career, not just a job.

Kike Olatundun, Co-Founder and Operations Directorat Delore Care, said: “So many people across the UK provide extraordinary care for loved ones every day, often without recognising the depth of skill involved. At Delore Care, we believe this experience is invaluable. Carers Week is the perfect moment to invite people back into the workforce and embark on a career that truly makes a difference. Professional care is a profession built on heart, dignity and human connection – and with our unique approach to on-the-job training, Delore Care can support our employees to thrive in it. Amongst our care team, we have staff who juggle personal caring responsibilities at home with professional caring, and those who joined us after their home caring roles ended. Professional care can be a rewarding career path that leaves employees feeling fulfilled by their working lives.”

The Delore Care Carers Week recruitment drive will include community outreach, career information sessions, and opportunities to meet Delore Care team members who have themselves transitioned from home-based caring to professional roles.

Delore Care is a provider of relationship‑centred care across domiciliary and residential settings across the UK, delivering support that enhances the everyday lives of the people it cares for. Its approach is never rushed or transactional; instead, care is intuitive, compassionate and tailored to each person’s needs, preferences and routines.
