The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in association with Red Bull, has launched the second ‘Adventures of Maldives (Dhivehi Aahitha)’ Facebook Video Competition.

Co-sponsored by Euro Store and Tech Street, the Adventures of Maldives (Dhivehi Aahitha) competition aims to promote the Maldives as an adventurous tourist destination by showcasing videos from locals and tourists taking part in daring and exciting activities in the Maldives, such as scuba diving, island excursions, festivals, free diving, surfing and snorkelling.

Holidaymakers can submit their one-minute video from the Maldives at www.visitmaldives.com/adventures from 26th October 2018 until 2pm on 26th November 2018. Travellers will then have the chance to vote for their favourite video on the Visit Maldives Facebook page from 28th November – 4th December 2018 by ‘liking’ their top clip. Following this voting period, judges will pick the winning videos in December.

The winner of the video competition is set to receive over £5,000 (MVR 100,000) as prize money, with the runner-up receiving over £1,000 (MVR 20,000). The top 10 videos selected after judging will also be featured on the official MMPRC (Visit Maldives) YouTube channel and promoted on the social and online media channels of MMPRC (Visit Maldives) as well as at International Travel and Trade Fairs.

During the official signing ceremony launching the event, Mr Haris, Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC) said, “The second edition of Adventure of Maldives will provide a platform that fascinates and will encourage both locals and tourists to share videos showcasing the adventurous side of the Maldives. The competition is also a great opportunity to highlight first-hand experiences that can be enjoyed in the Maldives, hence attracting more visitors to the destination.”

The Adventures of Maldives Video Competition held in 2017 proved immensely popular on Facebook, with the most watched video receiving over 80,000 views.
