Aitken Spence Hotels has announced five of the hotel group’s Maldives resorts will reopen to international guests by 1st September 2020.
Fiona Anderson, GEC PR Company Director: A lot has changed for the travel and tourism sector in 2020 – and we are (unbelievably) only halfway through the year.
His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced in an address to the nation on Tuesday 23 June that Maldives will re-open its borders for international tourists on 15th July 2020. Resorts, Liveaboards and hotels located at uninhabited islands will be open from 15th July 2020. Guest Houses and hotels located at inhabited islands will be open from 1st August 2020.
We seasoned PR professionals are used to change. In the twenty plus years that I’ve been working in this industry, I’ve gone from pitching features to journalists via fax (yes, it was that long ago!) to selling in content collaborations with influencers via Instagram DMs.
