Women in Travel CIC, the social enterprise dedicated to empowering women through employability and entrepreneurship in the travel industry, will host a masterclass workshop for digital media outlets and bloggers at Intrepid Travel’s London office from 6pm – 9pm on 16th July 2019.
As part of BAME Women in Travel’s ongoing schedule of events, the Media Kit 101 Masterclass workshop will be hosted by Binny Shah Patel, the award-winning content creator and founder of Binny’s Food & Travel blog. During the workshop, attendees will learn how best to pitch their services to travel brands and businesses and how to collate information about their services, brand identity and blog or digital platform in a personalised and professional media kit document.
Binny will be joined by Eulanda Shead Osagiede, Executive Director of BAME Women in Travel, who is also an award-winning photographer and co-founder of Hey! Dip Your Toes In blog. Eulanda will teach attendees about the art of photography and provide tips on how to choose the most effective imagery to include in a media kit that will attract attention and help to solidify brand identity.
The BAME Women in Travel initiative, which was officially launched earlier this year, assists black, Asian and minority ethnic women in the travel and tourism industry to fulfil their economic and individual potential through customised training and mentoring services aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and employment.
Speaking about the upcoming workshop, Eulanda Shead Osagiede, Executive Director of BAME Women in Travel said: “We’re excited to announce our latest workshop, which will provide attendees with top tips on how to build a professional and personalised media kit. The travel blogging community is a competitive environment so many digital influencers and travel bloggers may struggle to pitch their offerings to a travel organisation or business and get the results they desire. A media kit not only attracts the attention of a business but can also help in the pitching process by providing vital background information and an overall brand identity.”

About Women in Travel
Women in Travel (CIC) started life as a gender focussed platform at World Travel Market flagship event in London, in 2014. Growing successfully from then onwards, in 2017 it was incorporated as a social enterprise dedicated to empowering women through employability and entrepreneurship in Travel Tourism and Hospitality. Its vision is to become a catalyst for sustainability by placing women at the heart of an industry which is inherently attractive to females and growing at a fast pace. It is the brain-child of Alessandra Alonso, who has been recognised as a trail-blazer when it comes to gender diversity in the industry and who has supported women in maximising their opportunity in the travel, tourism and hospitality (TTH) industry for well over a decade, originally through Shine & the Shine Awards. Women in Travel partners with employers to provide the first Women Returners service through which the industry can access a pool of marginalised but often highly skilled women who are eager to get back to work. Women in Travel also runs entrepreneurship focussed events, mentoring and networking supporting start up and early stage female entrepreneurs and those wanting to start a business, particularly of BAME background.
