APH.com Reveals How Starlink Will Change Inflight Wi-Fi for UK Travellers in 2026

March 2026, London – New research from Airport Parking and Hotels (APH.com) has revealed how the rollout of Starlink Wi-Fi across major airline fleets from 2026 is set to transform how passengers stay connected in the sky.

The research, available at www.aph.com/airlineelectronics, showcases how several carriers are preparing to offer faster, more reliable and free inflight internet on starlink-equppied aircraft. The analysis compares Wi-Fi policies across major airlines including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Qatar Airways, covering device rules, charging availability, pricing and which carriers plan to introduce high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi from 2026.

APH found that British Airways, Air France, Iberia, Virgin Atlantic, LEVEL and Vueling will all be introducing Starlink Wi-Fi in 2026, while Qatar Airways has already begun rolling it out on selected aircraft. The technology is expected to deliver faster, more reliable inflight connections, with several airlines planning to offer free high-speed Wi-Fi on Starlink-equipped aircraft, meaning more consistent, high-quality Wi-Fi on long-haul routes.

The research also highlights which airlines currently offer the strongest onboard connectivity benefits. British Airways stands out for loyalty members, offering free messaging for Executive Club members, while airlines such as Emirates and Qatar Airways also provide complimentary or discounted Wi-Fi access for frequent flyers and premium cabin passengers. When it comes to free connectivity, Delta Air Lines offers free Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members on many domestic and international flights, with other carriers such as Air Canada and Air New Zealand are also introducing free connectivity for passengers or loyalty members on selected routes.

For inflight entertainment, several airlines stand out for the scale of their onboard content libraries. Qatar Airways’ Oryx One platform for example, offers up to 8,000 entertainment options, including films, TV shows, music and games, while airlines such as Emirates and Delta Air Lines also provide extensive entertainment libraries for passengers. However, even when Wi-Fi is available, most airlines do not allow voice and video calls during flights.

When it comes to Wi-Fi access, pricing was found to differ across the airlines. British Airways offers free messaging for Executive Club members, while non-members typically pay £1.99–£4.99 for messaging and £4.99–£21.99 for full browse and stream packages, depending on the route. Delta Air Lines and Air Canada provide free Wi-Fi for loyalty members on many flights, while Emirates offers paid plans from around £2 for messaging or £7.50–£15.50 for full internet access. However, many airlines still restrict high-bandwidth activities such as video streaming or video calls on standard packages, so travellers planning to work online or stream content should check allowances before flying.

Nick Caunter, Managing Director of APH.com, said: “High speed satellite Wi-Fi will be a major improvement for passengers who want to stay connected in the sky, whether for business, entertainment or keeping in touch with family. While some airlines are making huge strides, the onboard experience still varies widely between carriers and even between aircraft, and knowing what is available on your flight can help travellers plan ahead.”
